The internet works through servers are connected to computers through wires and the serves are connected by wires. As like you can always just trace back where something came from like if someone sent you a message from a certain website you can always trace back to where and which computer it came from. On the internet you can do many, many things such a browsing, researching, also use it for entertainment. The internet allows you to communicate with people all over the world. And discover many new things about place you’ve never even heard of. But sometimes the internet can be dangerous if you don’t use it cautiously. You can also shop on the internet. Usually on the internet things are way cheaper than buying the items at the actual store. But the items do take longer to get to your house. I use the internet for mainly school work and projects. The internet lets me read books, go on news websites and blogs to see other peoples opinion on the certain topic I am writing about. No longer do you have to use libraries for information. You could just turn on your computer and find much more information then you would at the library. But you do have to be careful when using the internet for information also. Many times the websites you go on might not be saying the truth or its not the right information you want for your report and you may not have a clue. Another thing I use the internet for is entertainment. I usually go on Facebook to talk to friends and see what others are up to. Other people such as adults use the internet more for business or see whats going on in the world like news and what not. Business through the internet. For example they could advertise their business or themselves on a website on the internet. Or if the work in international business e-mail and what not could be an easy way to communicate with their fellow employees. Adults could also use the internet for news. If an adult is on the road a lot and  can not be at home to watch the news or have to much on their plate to read the newspaper they could just pop out their phone and go on the internet and see what is going on. So they do not feel isolated from the world. I would say that the internet has helped our society but also hurt it very much. The internet has helped it by not making it so hard to search and do projects. And has hurt by having so many things to do on the internet that our generation would rather stay at home and not go outside.

In Hampton University, in Virginia, President Obama give a speech about our media environment. In his speech he basically tells us how we should not be exposed to so many media entertainment. He says that so much use of technology is just  ”a distraction, a diversion and not a tool of empowerment.” He should realize though that, that is our way to entertain ourselves. Just how he had his own entertainment when he was young. It is just that ours is way different, he would not want his entertainment to be taken away. I do not agree with him at all, only because he should understand us. That we are a different generation. New ways of thinking of how we should waste our time and entertain.

I dont think we are the dumbest generation. Its just that we are lazy and depend on technology for a lot more things then past generations. We have gotten farther then our parents got in high school, some of our parents didnt even go to high school. And they are saying we are the dumbest generation, no. Every generation is going to have new ideas and new ways to achieve or develop them. The past generations only think we are dumber is because we spend more time inside the house in front of a computer or sitting down playing video games. Thats not being stupid thats just being lazy and waisting time. I do believe we are the laziest generation. The rise of technology i think has dumbified some of our generation, actually most of it but that is only because we started depending on it so much and we have been so lazy to go to libraries ourselves, it is just easier to go into your room and turn on the computer and research it online. But we could also be the smartest and most advanced generation. If you think about it, some of our parents do not know how to use a computer or how to use a cell phone. And our generation know way WAY more than that. And even though we use technology for everything it does benefit us in a lot of ways. I dont know how we could change things for the better. I dont even think we could the only way we could is by taking away some of the technology and stop the advancement of technology and I do not think that is possible. Other than that we have no hope. The next generations to come will get worse and worse and just depend on it more and then will eventually be really stupid and not even know how to walk like in the movie Wall-E. It showed how we were going to be in the next few decades we are not even going to be able to remember how to walk. Because we are going to have some type of hover chair taking us everywhere. Then we officially will be the Laziest and Dumbiest generation.

Yajaira and I chose to name our charity site bettersearch. It is basically a mix of goodsearch and world vision. People can search for things like they would on any search engine and they would get a penny per search. They can also do a daily survey for the sponser to make an extra 25 cents. They can then take all the money that they earn and choose where the money goes. They could send a cow, help build a well, an egg laying chicken ect. to different places in need. They would also be able to put in a certain amount of money into a large item. So several people could all donate together to buy, larger items, such as materials for a school. All of the people that donate to these large items would recieve an email with the picture of the completed project and information on where the item went. This would be payed for by ads and sponsers (major companies). Each day a major company would be able to gain survey information from people and also donate 25 cents to charity. The ads would pay for the penny on each search. The charity items would be sent by the website employees. There would be people payed to send and receive the items and this would be included in the price of the sent items. All in all the site would be user friendly and benefit people all over the world. The only downside, is this depends greatly on participation of major companies. We honestly think that companies would get involved but it probably take time.

i think google calender is completely useless. google calender i think personally is just for the office working kind of people. This can also be a very good source for a student that is very organized and is an overacheiver, because they would just organize all of there homework on the google calender and their extra curricular activites and wouldnt miss a thing. i personally wouldnt use it because, i would have my phone with me and use that. Ive never used google docs in my life. And i dont think i will because i already have microsoft word. But for someone that wouldnt have it i think it is a very good alternative.

When it comes to google books, This one i do think is very useful because when you forget your book at school. You can easily access it on the computer. Read it and do the homework that you were assigned.

Google Docs, i think personally is pretty useless but then useful at the same time. i wouldnt use it because i already have microsoft office. but for someone that didnt this would be a very good alternative. its actually way more easier than microsoft word, and for some one that doesnt use the computer so often it would be good.

How we got to where we are today. From not having any news, to a news paper, to tv broadcast, then to the internet. I think that as the technology progressed, news ideas would come up and it would make our lives easier. The cons to a newspaper is that you have to pay for it. On the internet its free, and easier to read. Most newspapers can get smeared or something else cause of the weather of the day where it landed; because of the newspaper boy in your neighborhood. Its better for the enviornment, because of the newspaper, we have been wasting paper because some people dont even pick up their newspapers. A pro on having newspapers is that most people like having their cup of coffee or tea  in the morning with their newspaper. The future of the newspapaer in my opinion looks way different then now obviously, but like we are not gonna have to look up for it. We are gonna have like a little radio or like microchip in our heads.(Weird Huh?) And like it’ll automatically like warn us when something happens. So we arent gonna have to look it up or find out way later then when it happened. What The newspapers have to do to evolve the internet it be FREE! and be more interesting, not just black and white and so boring. They need to make it more fun and more like interesting. What I would like to see happen is the newspaper to stay, not just to disappear. I want to be fun and mopre interesting because really our generation already uses the computer way WAY to much!! And that needs to stop so at least something to look forward that we dont have to use the computer to see or find out about.

Twiddla is basically a white board but on your computer. You can lecture someone through Twiddla, like maybe tutor them. Show them step by step what they have to do. You can draw and send pictures to the person your talking to instantly. Not like before when you would do it on paint and then save then send it to them. Thats an advantage you wouldnt have to do so many things just to send a picture. And plus you can chat at the same time.

Business, well its could be useful. Like if you were a fashion designer than you could use twiddla to send them the picture and whatever they dont like the could just scatch it or edit it off and whatever they do like circle it. And whatever they want to change or give you an opinion they could easily show you in seconds, and thats an advantage. Maybe if architects could to, because if they were making a house for someone and the person that designed it wanted one thing, but the architect cant do that because of the area or some other reason they could just send them the picture of the other options they have to change that, that would be appropriate for that area. So its an advantage for some business but for others they dont need it at all. Like a chef he wouldnt need it, unless he wanted to show his chef assistants how his going to decorate the dinner plates for the special occasion i dont know.

I cant see myself using the twiddla in the future because I dont know i have no use for it. I think its kinda a waste of time if you would use for a pass time. But if its something important like school tutoring or business then yes, it’s a good website to use. I think it kinda just immetated other websites and softwares and put them together into something that they thought would be better but just came out to be somethingg unnessecary

I presonally use my cell phone to text my friends, listen to music, and make phone calls. My cellphone can make calls, send text and multimedia messages, listen to music, check email, browse the web, IM, make important dates on the calender, alarm clock, calculator, GPS, Yellowpages, Tv, Games, take pictures and video,edit your pictures, voice command notepad, voise recorder, world clock, stop watch, tip calculator, unit converter, and bluetooth. I personally use my cell phone just to text. I rarely use it to call people unless its really important, or way to long to type in a message.

To become a better student, I would probably just call people and ask them for help in like a homework assignment or project. Or call them to help me study for a huge test or final.

To become a better person. I could do so many things to become a better person, but i dont do them, i usually just to do it to talk to friends. I could maybe just call or text some friends or family, and ask them about there day, and iof they’re okay or something like that. Really, that is like the least i can do, but it would help someone, just be there for someone wehen they actually need it.

In the future, I think that there will be halograms in the phones. Also, umm its gonna be like practically your computer but in a way smaller version, that can fit in the palm of your hand. Its gonna be invisible and when you touch it, it appears and when someone tries to steal your phone that wont be able to, because they are not gonna be able to see it. The phone only turns on with your finger prints. And they will be all confused and just leave you alone. And when you talk to it it’ll do whatever you want. You’ll like tell it what to text and it’ll text it for you! And when you wake up it’ll tell you Good Morning Sunshine! It’ll practically be another person with you. Like a personal assistant with you all the time that’ll never leave you, but you can turn it off and on whenever you want.

My ideal cellphone  will be it’ll be a black bejeweled not to big but not to small cellphone. With web browser and shopping mall. But not the media mall that phones have now like actual malls in and you can shop. Like at Ontario Mills, Tyler Mall, or the Plaza. Something like that.

What is twitter?

Twitter is way to stay updated with your friends, using a limited amount of characters. Everytime you update your twitter that people that are following you they will be notified. Twitter is mostly just to keep people informed on your life.Twitter has changed many people instead of just talking to someone or even on the phone they just to do it on twitter.Twitter i think personally is a waiste of time, and well we already have our phone to text and tell people about our day why would we use another thing to tell people.

Who uses twitter?

A lot of people use twitter, and i dont know why, i could see why celebrities just to update there fans and when there concerts will be, when and where. But just regular people that arent that important i dont quite understand why. I guess it can be important at some point but i think that its a waiste of time.

Why?

Why do they use it well only they know, i cant see why people would use twitter just to use twitter.  And how now you get notified in your phone?That is absolutely ridiculous. Its just another way to get yourself even more addicted to technology and not be able to without technology.

What does twitter explosion in popularity say about us and our world culture?

Well the twitter popularity shows a lot. It shows that we are lazy and selfish. Because i guess we would rather be at home tweeting someone then be outside and going out and hanging out. But at the same time it helps and shows that we care. Like what happen in Iran when they were trying to get rid of twitter and everyone in twitter put something green in there status and changed it. They able to beat the government. Thats how it is helpful and useful.
